Bow to YOUR Partner, bow to your Corner
At the beginning of a square dance, each pair of dancers on each side of the square forms a couple, and therefore the partners join inside hands. It is traditional at the beginning of a dance to honor your partner and corner by (men) bowing to your lady, and (ladies) curtsying to your man. Through the entire figure, the couples handhold is maintained, and is not broken until some subsequent figure breaks the couple positioning. No positions change in this figure.
